ECOLOGY COUNTS

The distinct advantage of PVC-u over aluminum and hardwood windows are:

1. Aluminium is made up with a material called Bauxite along with other materials Bauxite is mined throughout the world including places like south America which can potentially result in the loss of rain forests and like some mining operations leave areas contaminated once mining is finished.
 

2. Hardwoods come mainly from the equitorial rain forests and need constant protection with chemicals to maintain its qualities.

3. PVC-u needs no maintenance. Just a wash down with soapy water now and again keeps up its sparkling good looks year in year out.

4. PVC-u Does not deteriorate. All wastage in the PVC-u used to make our windows can be ground down and reused time and time again. If for any reason a window made from PVC-u has to be changed, then this too can be cut up and ground to be used for something else.

Today biotechnology giants Monsanto have created a genetically modified (GM) plant that can grow plastic. The plastic is not only biodegradeable, it's also suitable for widespread commercial use.
